Auto-Mastering
Terms of service
These terms cover your use of the Auto-Mastering app ("the app") and its plans. The app is provided by Soundliminal LLC, trading as Sound Pro Academy ("we", "us"). By using the app you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use it.
1. What the app does
The app masters a mix toward a reference track you choose, matching its dynamics, stereo width, tone and loudness, with a control for each stage. The processing runs in your web browser on your own computer. It needs a desktop or laptop computer with an up-to-date browser, and it does not support phones. We may improve, change or remove features over time.
2. Your account
Your account is a Sound Pro Academy account: the same email also signs you in to the Academy's member portal. Keep your sign-in details to yourself and give us accurate information. An account is for one person; please do not share it. You are responsible for what happens under your account.
3. Plans and payment
- Free. Three masters a month, at the standard settings, exported as MP3, with the other limits shown in the app.
- Auto-Mastering Pro. Everything unlocked, with unlimited masters under the fair use rule below. Pro currently comes with the Premium membership. When it is sold on its own, it will be a subscription charged each month in advance at the price shown at checkout, renewing automatically until you cancel.
- Premium membership. The Sound Pro Academy membership, which includes Auto-Mastering Pro. It is sold and billed through our community platform, and the membership's own terms apply to it as well as these. Pro is unlocked on your account once we have confirmed your membership, and switched back to the free plan when the membership ends.
What counts as a master. A master is one mix matched to one reference track. Adjusting it, listening to it, downloading it in any format, and preparing the same two files again within 7 days do not count again. A new version of the mix (even a small change), a different reference, or the same two files after 7 days count as a new master.
Fair use. "Unlimited" means for your own music and the music you work on for your clients. So that one account cannot be run as a mastering service for others, a Pro account can start up to 200 new masters a month; ordinary use never comes near it.
You can cancel a subscription at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal, and you keep Pro until the end of the period you have paid for. If we change the price of a plan, we will tell you before the new price applies to your next renewal. Prices may be subject to taxes, depending on where you live.
4. Refunds
Auto-Mastering Pro is not refundable, except where applicable law requires a refund. You can cancel at any time and you will not be charged again, but payments already made, including for the rest of the current month, are not refunded unless the law requires it. The Premium membership is different: it comes with a two-week, 100% money-back guarantee under the membership's terms.
Two exceptions. If we stop offering a paid plan while you have paid for time you have not used, we will refund that unused time. And nothing in these terms takes away a right to cancel or to a refund that the law of your country gives you as a consumer.
5. Your music
You keep every right to your mixes, your references and the masters the app makes. We claim no ownership of any of it, and your audio is never uploaded to us. You are responsible for having the right to use the audio you load into the app. The reference track is only analysed, on your computer, to guide your master; none of it is placed in the file you download.
6. Using the app fairly
Please do not:
- get around plan limits or payment, or help anyone else to;
- copy, decompile or reverse-engineer the decision service, or use it except through the app;
- use automated tools to make masters in bulk, or resell access to the app;
- interfere with the service or other people's use of it.
If you break these terms, we may suspend or close your account.
7. Our software
We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use the app for as long as you have access to it. The app and everything in it, apart from your music, belong to us or our licensors. Some parts are open-source software provided under their own licences, which are included with the app.
8. No guarantees about results
The app gives you a master based on your mix and the reference you choose, and how it sounds depends on both. It is provided "as is", and we cannot promise that it will suit every track or every purpose. Listen to your master carefully before you release it. We work to keep the app available, but we cannot promise it will always be available or free of errors.
9. Our liability
As far as the law allows, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data or opportunities, arising from your use of the app. As far as the law allows, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited by law, or takes away your statutory rights as a consumer.
10. Ending
You can stop using the app and close your account at any time by emailing us. We may end the service with reasonable notice, and we may suspend an account immediately to stop abuse.
11. Changes to these terms
If we change these terms, we will update the date at the top and, for changes that matter, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. If you keep using the app after that, you accept the new terms.
12. Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, United States, where Soundliminal LLC is registered. If you are a consumer, you also keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live, and you can bring a claim in its courts.
